Fun Workouts That You Can Do At Home

In a pervious post, I wrote about ways to stay active at home. This post will be similar but I will be sharing more resources such as videos that can be done at home but are also fun and engaging. I think one of the most important aspects of a workout is that it is entertaining and engaging. This can help us feel more motivated and excited about working out. I also think that by having an entertaining workout, it makes the time go by a lot faster as well. The videos I will be providing today are just some examples of these fun workouts. I would like to note that it is important to consult a medical professional before starting any workout or workout program especially if you have any pre-existing conditions. I would also like to note that a lot of videos have catchphrases that go along the lines of target weight-loss, which is not possible so it is important to keep an open-mind when being exposed to such catchphrases that are intended to grab out attention. With that being said, let's proceed to introducing the workouts!

 Dance Workouts

Dance workouts are super fun and engaging. I personally really enjoy K-pop, and I was able to find a YouTube channel a few years ago that makes K-pop dance inspired workouts. The videos are easy to follow for beginners, and even people who aren't used to/comfortable with dancing. They are fun because you can dance along to your favorite songs in a way that is approachable. The videos are light cardio so they are not very intense. However, by the time I get to the 3rd video, I am sweating and feeling the burn. I would recommend these videos even for people who don't listen to K-pop because they are just so fun and light-hearted. I will list my top 3 favorite videos from this channel below.

For those who may want something more intense and/or not K-pop related, I would recommend the following videos. They are a lot more high-intensity and focus more so on cardio moves that represent dance-like movements. I would recommend these for people who workout regularly and want to try something new and fun!

Family Workouts

Nowadays, we may be spending a lot more time at home with our family members. If this is the case for you, I would recommend trying family workouts especially if there are younger children in the household. This can be a mood-booster for the whole family and it can be a great way to spend time together. Even the dance workouts above can be done as a group if there is space that allows for you to do so. Physical activity is something that should be accomplished at all ages, and these workouts allow for everyone of all ages to do that together in a fun way.

HIIT Workouts

I previously talked about HIIT workouts in a previous post but I think they fit perfectly into the theme of fun workouts. Though they are more intense, they are more engaging as there is usually little to no rest time between exercise moves. This keeps you more alert and aware of the workout itself. These would be recommended for people with more advanced in exercising as the workouts are a little more intense and require more skill in order to be done safely. Some videos may have beginner modifications or you can substitute your own modifications as well so they can be done at levels with less experience.

I hope that some of these videos can be useful depending on your physical activity experience or current living situation. Even if they aren't, I hope they can inspire you to find workouts that work for you and inspire you. Stay safe and happy!
